Malayalee Manga in Rio

I came to this country with a lot of apprehensions and doubts whether I would be able to adjust and fit in here. I was warned by many well wishers and friends to think twice before following my hubby into this strange land which was famous for mafia and drug lords gang wars. Some even warned me about taking my soon to be teenager son to a land of scantily clad women. I was thus prepared for the worst even before I set foot on this soil. I guess the saying Forewarned is forearmed is true. For when I set foot i was very much prepared for all the hardships that were in store for me.

I was pleasantly surprised to find myself in a place which looked so similar to my own home town of Mumbai that I felt I was home right from my first day here. Although I must add a much nicer cleaner version of Mumbai. Life was not what I was expecting. I fell is love with the green mountains and clean blue sea. It was like love at first sight. I felt I was in heaven. It felt like I was on a life long vacation. Gone were the honks and the loud noises. All there was is a deafening silence. There were days when I longed to hear some noise, missed the noise of life around you but soon silence filled my heart and soul and I was at peace with myself. After coming here I am so relaxed and stress free. Rio does that to you. The people of rio are always happy and relaxed and I guess it is the soul of this city that has this calming effect on all.
